  • F.V.O.F. may decide on temporary bans in certain waters when, for example, fish releases or tree planting.
  • F.V.O.F. disclaims all liability, all fishing is done at the cardholder's own risk.

NOTE. Important to consider when re-releasing

The fish's chance of survival after re-release is primarily affected by:

  • Hooking.  Fish that are hooked superficially have better chances of recovering.

  • Air exposure.  Fish that are exposed to air for a short time are subjected to less stress and strain.

  • Drilling.  Shorter drilling reduces the strain on the fish and improves the possibility of recovery, especially in warm water.

  • Depth. Fish with closed swim bladders (such as perch and pike-perch) can be damaged by the pressure change if they are caught in deeper water.

Some of the most important things you as an angler can do to minimize the negative impact on the fish are therefore to:

  • Plan your fishing. Decide in advance which and how many fish you will keep – consider avoiding re-release at high water temperatures.

  • Adjust your equipment. Always have a good pair of pliers and a strong cutter close at hand for quick and gentle unhooking. Single hooks instead of triple hooks and nets with rubber netting also increase the chance of successful re-release.

  • Keep the rigging and handling short. Bring the fish home quickly and in a controlled manner and minimize handling – especially the time the fish is above the water surface.

Hedevikens F.V.O.F. wishes YOU a good fishing trip!
