People under 18 fish for free. Fishing is allowed with hand gear, i.e. fishing rod, casting rod, trolling with ice with one gear at a time. It is not allowed for the public to fish with nets or to fish from a motorboat while underway, so-called trolling. Crayfish and Eels are NOT allowed to be fished! Fishing is controlled by fishing inspectors, who have been appointed by the County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland County after training. They have the authority of a police officer and can intervene in cases of illegal fishing, including by seizing property or conducting an examination of catch and fishing gear or boats used when traveling on the lake. If you would like information regarding fishing regulations or other nature information, please contact the inspector in confidence. When performing their duties, the fishing inspector wears a police badge and identification card as well as the County Administrative Board's appointment.
