Lake Åmänningen is Västmanland's largest lake after the Mälaren and Hjälmaren. It is located in Fagersta municipality in Bergslagen with Engelsberg's use, one of Sweden's World Heritage Sites, as its closest neighbor.
In the lake is the famous oil island with the world's only preserved oil refinery from the 19th century. The county is 2260 hectares with about 30 islands.
The lake has plenty of pike, gös and perch and there are also salmon trout and lake.
