Västmanland is located in Svealand's inland and borders to Södermanland, Värmland, Dalarna, Gästrikland and Uppland. The country is varied in nature. In the south-eastern part there is a very fertile plain, while in the north-western part there is a landscape that rises, thus largely leaving the agricultural landscape into a more hilly terrain filled with heights, forests and lots of lakes. Fishes that can be caught in Västmanland are, among others, perch, pike, goose, salmon, sea trout, harr and eagle. The fish is incredibly varied and thanks to the large amount of water you can choose and wrap between different fishing modes and species. In addition to large water like the Mälaren and Hjälmaren, Dalälven flows through the county.
