Västmanland is located in the interior of Svealand and borders Södermanland, Värmland, Dalarna, Gästrikland and Uppland.
The county is varied in its nature. In the southeastern parts there is very fertile plain land while in the northwestern parts you will find a landscape that rises and thus mostly abandons the agricultural landscape to a more hilly terrain filled with hills, forests and lots of lakes.
Fish to catch in Västmanland include perch, pike, zander, salmon, sea trout, grayling and brown trout. The fishing is incredibly varied and thanks to the large number of waters you can pick and choose between different fishing methods and species. In addition to large waters such as Mälaren and Hjälmaren, the Dalälven also flows through the county.
