Sala FVF

Järndammen, Silvköparen, Långforsen m fl vatten

We are a few happy amateur fishermen who manage the fishing in the Sala Lakes, also called the Mine Water System, which used to supply the Sala Silver Mine with hydroelectric power.

The following waters are available in the area: Vallsjön, Långforsen, Stensjön, Harsjön, Långsjön, Helgonmossdammen, Järndammen, Silvköparen, Olof-Jons, Långforsen, Stora Hundsjön, Mellandammen, Ekeby Dammar.

The Iron Dam
Järndammen offers excellent fishing and an incredibly scenic area with walking paths around the lake, fishing does not apply to the entire lake. See map for further information.

Long rapids
Långforsen offers fishing for pike, zander, perch and whitefish, a large lake with several swimming areas. Långforsen also has some accessibility features.

Olof-Jons & The Silver Buyer
Olof-Jons and Silvköparen offer pike and perch. Silvköparen has a campsite.

Ekeby dams
In Ekeby ponds and rivers, no fishing license is required and pikes over 60 cm and all carp are protected and must be released.

In this area, there is one or more "put and take" waters.

The area includes one or more fishing areas for catch-and-release, i.e the fishes are gently put back into the water alive.
