Ås-Tolken is located in the western part of Borås and the eastern part of Ulricehamn municipality.
The lake is the source lake of Viskan and has clear and clean water. The interpreter is an excellent fishing lake with large perch, pike, gazelle, eel, salmon earring and not least the sik and siklöja. Sometimes one can also get a singer.
There are several islands in the lake. On one of them, Sundholmen, there are the remains of Sundholm's castle from the early 16th century. A boat ramp is located at the southern end of the lake at Hallabron and one at the north end of the lake, at the start of the downhill to Sjögården. The latter is located close to Old Highway 40, south of former Nice Inn.

Its purpose is to maintain and develop the fish stock in the lake and to enable the public to get access to fisheries through the purchase of fishing licenses.
