The route is open for fishing.
The Göta River (Oscarsbron - Hängbron) is a unique and easily accessible fishing lake in scenic surroundings near central Trollhättan, near Strömslund and the power station. The stretch is about a kilometer long and here the Göta River naturally forms a beautiful gorge with flowing water and with Åkerström's nature reserve downstream.
There is also plenty of rainbow, pike, perch, geese and various types of white fish in the water.
The route starts at the Oscars bridge and goes down to the suspension bridge. Oscarsbron is one of Sweden's most visited viewing places and is filled by tourists when the water is released in the otherwise dry rainfall during the days of the Fall.
Salmon fishing is centrally located, just over a kilometer from central Trollhättan, it is easily accessible both on foot and by car. There are good opportunities for parking adjacent to the river.
Fishing is conducted, especially salmon and trout, during the summer period (1 April to 14 October) and around 300 salmon fish are raised annually. Salmon fishing on the newly established Atlantic salmon is gaining momentum around midsummer and the most common fishing methods are by spinning fly, spoon pull and meteor with shrimp or herring.
In total, 2 salmon fish may be raised per day and the minimum size for salmon is 50 cm and trout 45 cm.
NOTE! Pike 45 cm. The eel is protected throughout the area.
The fishermen Trollhättan - Vänersborg, shortens STV and has its headquarters in Trollhättan and Vänersborg municipalities. The association is affiliated with Sveriges Sportfiske- & Fiskevårdsförbund.
The association is responsible for monitoring and utilizing sport fishing and fishing interests within the municipalities of Trollhättan and Vänersborg with the surrounding area.
