Håckrenmagasinet offers some of the best fishing in the county. This is something completely different from "put & take". Here you will only find naturally raised fish and top-level sport fishing. The stock consists of trout, char, grayling, pike, perch and roach. The stocking that is done comes from the spawning that we ourselves do in these waters every autumn. You have probably heard of the "Håckrenrödingen" - renowned for its quality and size.
In winter, ice fishing is the norm in Håckrenmagasinet, with lures and maggots on the hook usually giving good results. The best fishing spots are at the upper part of the reservoir and down by the regulating dam.
When fishing in the summer, no particular area is better or worse from a catching point of view. The decisive factors are the weather and wind and the willingness of the fish to bite. Boats and longlines work throughout the summer, while fishing from land is best in early summer in connection with the grayling spawning. In the ponds, reels and fly rods are best. Coppers and dark spinners are viable baits, but fishing with worms is also permitted.
In most of the ponds, only trout are found. Trout fishing in the rolling ponds is best at higher water levels in early summer.
