We are concerned about our fish. If you have fished in another body of water before Forstjärn, it is a requirement that the equipment that is in contact with water has been properly sun-dried or disinfected before fishing begins in order to avoid the risk of spreading any diseases. Disinfectant Virkon S can be purchased, for example, from the neighboring farm, follow the instructions carefully.
Forstjärn is located in Deje, Forshaga municipality and is approximately 6 hectares in size. The maximum depth is around 4 meters and the bottom mainly consists of softer sediment. It is a varied lake with different types of vegetation such as leaf reed, nate, water lilies, kavedun and rushes. In addition, there is plenty of shrubbery and overhanging trees in the shore zone that offer protection and shelter for the lake's carp. Through the association's efforts in collaboration with Forshaga municipality, 8 different swims have been arranged for fishing license holders to fish from. Two more places are available for paying members of the association.
In 2012, the first fish were released into the lake, just over 40 mirror and mountain carp from Aneboda, which showed good growth in later test fishing. The largest have ranged from 9 to over 12 kg and with a new lake record of 12.96 kg from 2025.
Qualitative support releases have subsequently been made;
- In 2016, we added another 22 carp, the majority of which were fine mirror carp between 2-5 kg from Aneboda.
- In 2021, another 11 beautiful Aneboda mirrors between 4-6 kilos were allowed to swim into the lake.
- In 2025, 6 more Aneboda mirrors between 4-6 kilos were released.
