***Important INFO***
**We are concerned about our fish. If you have fished in another body of water before Forstjärn, it is a requirement that the equipment that is in contact with water has been properly sun-dried or disinfected before fishing begins to avoid the risk of spreading any diseases. Disinfectant Virkon S can be purchased, for example, from the neighboring farm, follow the instructions carefully.
- Appointed supervisors are responsible for ensuring that the fishing rules below are followed. Fishing license and equipment must be shown upon request - Should a carp get caught while fishing, there are boats to borrow, these may only be used to safely unload and land the fish, after which it must be placed back in its place. Information about boats is provided upon purchase of a fishing license. - Fishing rules are subject to change on an ongoing basis and should always be read through before fishing begins.**
Fishing rules
1. For fishing for carp, a valid fishing license or annual membership in the association is required, see info under https://www.ifiske.se/fiske-forstjarn.htm 2. All caught carp must be returned to the water unharmed. Each catch of carp must be reported via email varmlands.karpforening@gmail.com, with an attached clear picture of both sides of the fish. The report must state the following (Date of catch, Name, Fishing license number/membership, Weight, Length, Swim, Bait) 3. When fishing, there must be at least one knotless carp net, a good-sized unhooking mat and a water container (bucket or similar) to keep the fish wet when handling. 4. Tents may only be erected on excellent swims, see the map for further info. Grilling is only allowed on a grill, respect the fire ban and do not leave any grill residue by the lake. 5. Fishing is allowed with a maximum of 3 rods per person at a time, regardless of whether you are bottom fishing, float fishing or stalking. A maximum of 2 people can fish per swim at the same time. 6. Fishing is allowed within a reasonable casting distance from the selected swim, common sense applies and always respect fishermen on adjacent swims. No night fishing from the red-marked strip of land (See map). Do not place bait near obstacles, such as piers or fallen trees where the fish can get stuck. 7. Boats/rubber boats or other watercraft are not allowed. Baitboats are allowed, but common sense applies. Bait must be placed within a reasonable casting distance, not near visible obstacles and that it does not disturb other fishermen. If the swim is nearby, stalking fishing may take place where you can land the fish safely, but if you leave the swim, the rod that is being fished must be reeled in first. Never leave the rod unattended. 8. Collect all trash in a trash bag during the fishing session and take it with you when you finish fishing, regardless of whether you are the one who littered or not. Littering may also not take place during the fishing session, regardless of whether you intend to take it with you afterwards. 9. Bagging fish may only take place for a short time to prepare for weighing and photography. In this case, secure the fish properly and keep it under supervision at frequent intervals. 10. Read through the instructions for safe fish handling before you fish. You can find these as a downloadable file on our info page https://www.ifiske.se/fiske-forstjarn.htm 11. Use common sense, correctly sized equipment and only safety rigs that the fish can get rid of in the event of a line break or similar. If you are unsure about anything, please ask via email varmlands.karpforening@gmail.com and we will respond as quickly as we can.
Free fishing for children and young people up to and including 15 years only in the company of a guardian who holds a valid fishing license (on their quota).
