Lipered is located about 10 km south of Trollhättan near the community of Sjuntorp.
The waters include three interconnected small lakes. Alsjön, Småvattnet and Liperedssjön and Smörsjön (also called Smörsömlingen). The lakes are quite nutrient-poor and the terrain around them, which is partly protected, is characterized by relatively untouched coniferous forest. Not only anglers but also people of all kinds who are active in leisure activities come here.
The fish fauna includes fairly ordinary populations of pike, perch, eel, roach, rudd and tench.
