Fishing license
The fishing license entitles you to sport fishing with a maximum of 2 hand tools in the form of a rod, for example a fishing rod, spinning rod, reel rod, fly rod and pimp rod. Fishing with gear such as fishing nets, nets, cages and other mobile or fixed fishing gear is prohibited. The use of so-called live transmitters in connection with fishing is prohibited.
The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred or lent.
The fishing license must be taken with you when fishing and must be presented together with valid identification and caught fish when requested by the fishing supervisor. The fishing supervisor has the right to request access to closed or locked areas on boats used for fishing.
Anyone who cannot prove their right to fish risks being reported to the police for illegal fishing. Fishing without a permit is an offense against Section 37 of the Fisheries Act (1993:787) and can result in fines or imprisonment for up to 12 months.
Children under 16 (age should be able to be verified) fish free in the company of a guardian on their fishing license and under the guardian's responsibility.
Conservation areas, conservation periods and protected species
From 1 March to 31 May, fishing is prohibited at the mouths of the lake (Tormestorpsån, Hovdalaån and Mjökalångaån). The conservation areas for each estuary consist of a triangle 150 meters straight out from the estuary and 150 meters on either side of the estuary.
All fishing in water shallower than 3 meters is prohibited during April and May (goose and pike game), with the exception of rod fishing from land and rod fishing from the association's fishing jetty.
It is always prohibited to carry out vertical fishing where the water depth is 9 meters or more.
All fishing aimed at trout is prohibited.
All fishing aimed at eels is prohibited.
All trout and eel caught must be released immediately, regardless of condition (dead or alive).
Catch restrictions for pike and zander
Max 2 fish in total (of pike or zander) per person per day. This quota cannot be increased by redeeming several fishing licenses for the same day. Minors who fish in the company of a guardian on his card may, together with the guardian, share in his quota.
Pike: minimum 45 cm and maximum 70 cm.
Goose: minimum 45 cm and maximum 70 cm.
All catches below the minimum size or above the maximum size must be released immediately, regardless of condition (dead or alive).
Other regulations
So-called jerk fishing, fishing with hook gear with the intention of jerking the hook, is prohibited.
It is forbidden to fish with pole hooks and scissors.
Handle fish that are to be released back into the lake with care.
It is forbidden to sell or barter with predatory fish caught in the lake.
Everyone who fishes in Lake Finjasjön is obliged to find out and know the regulations that apply to fishing in the lake.
By purchasing a fishing license, the buyer accepts the regulations that apply to fishing in Lake Finjasjön.
Fishing supervision and control fee
The fishing supervisor has the right to request access to closed or locked areas on boats used for fishing.
ATTENTION! Violation of local fishing regulations for Lake Finjasjön is charged with a control fee in accordance with Section 33 of the Act (1981:533) on fisheries management areas. The inspection fee is SEK 1,500 per violation.
