Fishing is permitted throughout the year, except for salmon and sea trout fishing, which may only take place during the period 1/4-30/9.
Fishing time: 05:00-23:00. Fishing on the stretch from the bridge in Vessigebro and 400 meters downstream is only permitted from 1 April to 30/9.
Fishing area
The fishing area stretches from the bridge in Vessigebro - the old road E6 bridge and is divided into two sections:
Permitted fishing methods
Spinning, angling and fly. The "one rod-one man" principle applies.
Supervision - general rules
Fishermen are obliged to present a valid fishing license at the request of a supervisor or fishing right owner.
For the conduct of fishing, a single road may not be used without the landowner's permission. The fisher is obliged to get to know the fishing rules and carefully observe the regulations.
As anglers, we assume that you show consideration for nature and wildlife within the fishing area. Discarded lines, broken hooks and other waste are taken home after fishing.
Catch quota and minimum size - Salmonid fish
Fishing license entitles you to catch a maximum of two salmon or trout per day.
Minimum measurements counted from the tip of the nose to the outer tip of the tail fin:
Salmon ... 45 cm
Sea trout ... 45 cm
Fish that do not measure up must be immediately released back into the water.
During the period 1 April-30 June, a maximum of 3 salmon may be caught per person in Ätran. When 3 salmon have been caught, fishing is suspended for the rest of the time up to and including 30 June. In the months of August and September, all caught fish over 75 cm must be released again. We also recommend that smaller females be re-released during these two months and urge fishermen to be aware of high water temperatures (over 20 degrees), when you should consider completely refraining from fishing.".
Please note that catching eels is not allowed. All catches must be reported. Also applies to reintroduced fish.
