Regulations
Sport fishing may take place from land, boat or ice only within a marked area. Only an implement brought by hand (spinning, fishing, fly, reel, fishing rod or long haul) may be used. A valid fishing license must always be carried when fishing and presented on request to a qualified fishing guard or fishing right holder. The fishing license is personal, but also applies to a family member under the age of 15 who accompanies the cardholder.
It is forbidden to put out a hook or leave gear in the water.
Within the bird sanctuary, landing and staying is prohibited between 15 April and 31 July. Exceptions are marked trails and observation sites for bird watchers.
The minimum size for caught trout and char is 35 cm from the tip of the snout to the outermost tip of the tail fin. The maximum catch per fishing license is 3 trout and 5 chars per day. Any catch of Canadian char shall be killed.
