Rules for sport fishing 2023
Fishing may only be done with sport fishing gear, max. one rod brought from hand per card holder, thus not with long line, pole hook and twine gear
Fishing with a boat or other floating craft is only allowed in certain lakes, see the respective fisheries management area
The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred
The fishing license must be carried when fishing and must be shown to the fishing supervisor on request
Fishermen must be aware of current laws and regulations as well as rules issued by fvo
Violation of the regulations stated results in the forfeiture of fishing rights and may lead to demands for control fees or prosecution
Young people under the age of 18 do not need a fishing license
Driving on existing roads is at your own risk
Scooter traffic is prohibited in areas with plantation or young forest and arable land

Fishing is prohibited within 100 m of the power plant dams (a safety issue)
Prohibition of fishing from the highway bridges (risk of jerk fishing and a matter of traffic safety)
Free fishing with rod in Avaviken, Dvärsätt and Bånntjärn (eastern half)

Drag back grayling and trout smaller than 35 cm
Do not use otter or more than three hooks when fishing
Mask and lead ban
Fishing for grayling prohibited April 15-May 31
Trout fishing prohibited September 1-October 31

Lower Långans fvo
Minimum size grayling and trout 35 cm. All trout and grayling that fall below the minimum size must be re-released regardless of the condition of the fish
Fishing ban between April 15-May 31 and September 1-October 31
Maximum fishing catch 5 fish/day
Gysen's fvo
Minimum size trout 25 cm. Trout that fall below the minimum size must be re-released
Fishing for trout is not permitted from 1 September to 31 October in:
- flowing water
- lakes and seals within a distance of 200 meters from their inlet or outlet
Åkersjön's fvo
Leased waters for sport fishing are Lake Åkersjön and Åkerån
Trout with a total length of less than 35 cm may not be caught. Trout that do not measure up must be re-released regardless of condition
From September 1-October 31, fishing is prohibited in Åkerån and in Lake Åkersjön within a distance of 200 m from the inlet and outlet of rivers and streams from Lake Åkersjön

Fishing allowed in Stora Bakvattnet
Fishing prohibited in Bakvattensån from Stora Bakvattnet to Edbladsforsen, in Björkbäcken and Margitbubäcken and in Lilla Bakvattnet
