Within the Lower Klarälven fishing conservation area, fishing south of the E18 bridge is free for everyone. Free fishing also applies to lakes Rudtjärn, Sundstatjärn, Kroppkärrsjön, Örsholmstjärn and Djupsundsviken.
A fishing permit is required for fishing in the river north of E18 and up to the upper limit of the fishery conservation area and Ilandatjärn (see map). Children and young people up to 16 years of age fish for free within the entire fishery conservation area (not Sandbäckstjärn) according to current regulations . A separate fishing permit is required for fishing in Sandbäckstjärn.
Everyone who fishes must observe the applicable rules. In case of violation of the rules, an inspection fee will be charged by appointed fishing inspectors. Fishing in the fishery conservation area without a fishing license north of the E18 bridge and in Sandbäckstjärn will result in a police report according to §37 of the Fishing Act .
- Within the fisheries management area, a gear restriction of a maximum of 2 hand gear per person applies (fishing rod, casting rod, fly rod or ice rod).
- It is prohibited to kill eels, carp, tench, rudd, asp and lamprey within the fishery conservation area.
- Fishing for salmon and trout is prohibited from 20/5 – 15/10. The minimum size for salmon and trout is 60cm the rest of the time. Fish with intact adipose fins must be released immediately.
- For pike-perch, a minimum size of 45cm applies. Fish that do not meet the minimum size must be released immediately.
- Jerk fishing and crayfish fishing are prohibited within the entire fishery management area.
- Fishing for smelt/slom with a net is free.
- For fishing with a roach hut within the Lower Klarälven fishing conservation area, the angler must hold an annual license. The right to fish with a roach hut only applies within the lower part of the fishing conservation area, i.e. south of the E18 bridge. Roach huts must be marked with the cardholder's name and telephone number!
