REGULATIONS FOR FISHING IN THE MOUNTAIN LAKE
Background
Close fishing in Bergvattensjön is managed by Dorotea municipality. Regular releases of salmon-like fish, mainly char, rainbow and trout take place in Bergvattensjön.
Fishing rules for Bergvattensjön:
1. Only 3 salmon-type fish (rainbow, char, trout) may be killed/fishing license (24 hours). Annual pass holders are only entitled to kill 3 salmonid fish per day. Minimum size 30 cm. Other fish species may be caught without restrictions.
2. Only fishing with a fishing rod, casting rod, spinning rod, spinning rod or fly rod is allowed. Only one rod may be used per angler and must be fished by hand (rod may not be left on land or ice with bait outside).
3. Fishing from a boat, raft etc. is prohibited. Fishing from a floating ring is permitted.
4. The fishing license is also valid for the holder's children under the age of 15 who fish in his company. However, a maximum of 4 salmonid fish per card may be killed.
5. Fish cleaners may not be left in or adjacent to the lake. There is a risk of spreading parasites to live fish if this is not taken care of.
6. Children and youth (youth between 6 and 16 years of age) living (registered) in Dorotea municipality can receive free fishing licenses during the summer holidays, provided that the municipality sponsors 400 free licenses annually. Otherwise, the fishing license must be redeemed.
7. Schools and childcare may fish for free in the lake after notification to the municipality's fisheries officer. An account of fishing results is submitted to the municipality's fisheries officer.
8. Group permits for companies and organizations in connection with events, at least 15 people are requested from the municipality's fisheries officer.
9. Permission for the Lion's annual winter competition is sought from the municipality's fisheries officer.
10. The fisheries manager may make decisions about rules in connection with fishing releases.
11. Fishing license holders may put out five anglers or five rods/day tackled with an angle hook or treble hook and dead bait fish with the aim of catching pike. Pike shears are prohibited. Clarification The hooks may only be baited with dead bait fish and not anything else such as worm, power bait, maggot etc. Fishing may only take place during the iced period.
12. The fisheries manager or deputy to the fisheries manager may decide on rules for decimation fishing.
