RULES FOR FISHING WITHIN THE NISSAN FISHERIES CONSERVATION AREA 2024
Fishing area
Fishing is permitted in Nissan from Oskarström (the regulating dam at Ry bruk) to the outlet into the sea. Fishing may only be conducted within specified fishing pools and only by holders with a valid fishing license.
Fishing pools
The fisheries management area is divided into pools, a total of nine, Nos. 0-4 and 6-9. Pool boundaries are marked with signs. Permitted fishing methods within the zone are indicated in text on the sign. Fly fishing only (pools 3 and 8), fly/spinning/fishing (pools 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9). The location of the pools is shown on the map.
Pool 1
Fishing may be conducted: On the east side (Frennarps side) downstream yellow marking approx. 150 meters below Slottsmöllan's power station. On the west side downstream yellow marking opposite the above. Casting upstream is prohibited.
Fly fishing may be conducted from a line approx. 10 meters upstream of the suspension cable also marked in red approx. 100 meters from the bridge. Please note that throwing towards the area formerly known as the "pantry" is not permitted. The area is located downstream of the salmon ladder and the outlet from the power plant and ends at the yellow marking. See map.
Fishing license
A valid fishing license is required to fish within the area. Fishing license whose category or date has been changed in any way or is not filled in, is not valid. Fishing license must be worn in full visibility on the arm and can always be shown together with identification at the request of a fishing supervisor.
Sales of annual passes continue until 2024-06-30, after that only sales of other card types.
Restrictions adult annual pass in Nissan to 250 and youth annual pass to 50.
Children under the age of 12 accompanied by a guardian may fish for free, if the guardian has a valid fishing license.
Group discount
Group from a school or recreation center in Halmstad municipality, has the right to fish on an adult card per 10 students. The same category of groups from other municipalities has the right to fish on an adult card per 5 students.
Fishing time
Fishing may be conducted between 1 March - 30 September between 05.00 and 22.00 in all pools. During the period 1 March – 31 August, fishing in pool 1 and pool 8 may be conducted between 5 a.m. and midnight. During the period 1-14 October, fishing in pool 9 may be carried out between 7.00 and 19.00 with a special day card.
Fishing method
Fishing may be conducted with fly, spinning and fishing rods. Only one rod per person. Fishing from a boat is permitted against payment of a special fishing license. Fly fishing is absolutely prohibited according to Swedish law. All wrongly hooked fish must be unconditionally re-released. Fishing with a worm is prohibited March-April. Only single hooks may be used during the period from March 1 to April 30, pool 0 and 1. From May 1, three hooks may be used. To reduce the damage to fish to be released, it is recommended that only barbless single hooks are used.
Fishing from a boat
A special boat fishing license is required to fish from a boat. This allows fishing from a boat in pool 2 and the pools upstream of pool 2. When fishing from a boat, it is also allowed to fish between the pools. However, disembarkation may only take place within the pools. The fly fishing pools must be respected, fly fishermen have priority. The boat fishing license is valid for 1 day and gives everyone on board the right to fish. The fisheries management area does not designate any places for laying.
Fishermen with boats are encouraged to contact and obtain approval from landowners and others who may have a suitable mooring site.
At the supervisor's request, fishermen must take the boat to the supervisor without delay.
The possibility of redeeming boat fishing licenses may be limited if unfavorable conditions exist.
Catch quantity
Fishing license entitles you to catch a maximum of 2 salmon and 2 trout per season. Reintroduction of large female salmon is recommended!
Caught and released fish must be unconditionally reported to Fiska.se. ATTENTION! Caught besa (spawned salmon) must be released unconditionally.
Minimum dimensions
The following minimum measurements apply, counted from the tip of the nose to the outermost tip of the tail fin: salmon: 45 cm trout: 45 cm. Fishing that does not meet the standard must be unconditionally released again.
Catch reports
Caught fish must be unconditionally reported to www.ifiske.se.
Fisheries supervision
The fisher must follow the rules of the fisheries management area as well as additional instructions, which are given by the fishing supervisor. Fishermen who break the rules or fail to follow the supervisor's instructions may be suspended and forced to return their fishing license without compensation.
Ethical rules
Do not leave hooks, ropes or anything else that could harm birds and animals. Fish to be kept must be killed immediately.
Rule change
Changes or additions to the rules can be made without compensation obligation from the fisheries management area during the current season. It is allocated on iFiske and the website. As an angler, you are obliged to stay informed about and follow the applicable fishing regulations. Violation of rules can result in the withdrawal of fishing rights.

Do not trespass on private grounds. Show consideration for nature and landowners.
