A fishing license is required and is valid for hand gear, spinning, fly fishing, angling and ice fishing. Trout is protected and may not be fished between 1/9 and 31/3. The minimum length for caught trout must be at least 50 cm. Fishing is prohibited in red zones according to Miens fvof's fishing map (including public bathing areas). Fishing is also not permitted in Drevån, Bastaremålaån, Lunkån, Lunksjön, Agnagölen and Gåragölen.

Thorough cleaning must be done if a boat, canoe or other floating craft is moved between other waters and Mien to prevent the spread of invasive species. For boats that are not stationary in Mien, the following applies: maximum 5 meters, maximum 25 horsepower and maximum 5 knots 0-100 meters from the shore.

In case of violation of the above rules, a penalty fee of SEK 4,000 per person will be charged.
