In order to fish in Byskeälven's Upper FVO, a fishing license must be redeemed. Annual passes are valid as family passes for each and children up to 16 years of age. Day passes and 3-day passes are personal and include a rod from shore, children under 16 fish for free in the company of a guardian. Free fishing during the period 1/1 - 30/4, which applies to both the river channel and the put and take lakes Minahålet and Sikträsket.
Permitted fishing periods Byskeälven:
Period 1: 1/1 to 30/4 (Free fishing, however fishing rules still apply)
Period 2: 10/6 to 31/8
Period 3: 1/9 to 15/9 (Fishing for grayling only)
Fishing is prohibited in Byskeälven:
1/5 to 9/6 (Harrlek)
16/9 to 31/12 (Trout & salmon spawn)
Fishing methods that are NOT allowed in Byskeälven:
- Fishing with live bait
- Jerk fishing
- Fishing with an otter board
- Fishing with more than 3 different hooks
- Fishing from a boat or floating ring
Salmon:
Minimum dimensions: 50 cm
Window outlet female salmon 50-63 cm 10/6 to 31/7
Window outlet all salmon 50-63 cm 1/8 to 31/8
One salmon per fishing license & day may be kept, a total of 5 per year
Trout:
Restocking requirements for all trout
Grayling:
Minimum dimensions: 35 cm
Peaceful 15/4 to 10/6

1 salmon-type fish/day
Free fishing for young people up to the age of 16 without the presence of a guardian
Dead fish of an unauthorized nature that "accidentally" die during capture must be released again.
There is a reintroduction section that runs from Kilverdammen - Graunaforsen, where all fish must be reintroduced.
Mandatory catch reporting applies from 48 hours after the end of fishing.

All fish over 30 cm must be reported.
When re-introducing fish, it must be done in as gentle a way as possible. Make sure the fish gets oxygen through the gills by holding it up against the current and try to make sure it can swim away on its own.
The fisheries management area has the right to charge a control fee if any of the local fishing regulations are not followed.
Fishing during the prohibition period: SEK 4,400
Killed salmon outside window outlet: SEK 4400
Failure to present a valid fishing license: SEK 300
Catch report not submitted within 48 hours after the end of fishing: SEK 1100
