FVO applies rules for Vindelälven within FVO according to the Swedish Marine and Water Authority's statute collection (HVMFS). In summary, these prescribe:

• Minimum size grayling 35cm, max 5 grayling / day / fisherman.
• Fishing ban grayling 15 / 4-31 / 1
• Minimum size trout 35cm, max 1 trout / day / fisherman.
• Fishing ban trout 1 / 9-15 / 10
• Interval size salmon of 50-65cm, max 1 salmon / fishermen / day.
• Fishing ban salmon 1 / 9-31 / 12, 1 / 5-18 / 6

Please note that you as a fisherman are obliged to know the rules that apply

Special rules for Vormbäcken:

• Fishing licenses are required for fishing in Vormbäcken
• Catch limit: 3 salmon-like fish / day, maximum size 40cm (ie all salmon-like fish larger than 40cm must unconditionally be re-released)
• Fishing allowed only between 1 June-15 July.
• Does not apply to Fräkentjärn.
• Only fishing with a fly or spin, all fishing with natural baits such as worms, maggots or the like is strictly forbidden.
• However, winter fishing from the ice with natural baits in Fräkentjärn is allowed

Special rules for Perch Lake

• Fishing licenses are required for fishing in Abborrtjärn
• Minimum size trout / char 35cm (length is measured from the tip of the fish's nose to the end of the tail fin)
• It is totally forbidden to fish with live bait (worm, etc.), shrimp and artificial scent baits (salmon balls, powerbait, etc.).
• However, ice fishing during the winter with maggot / mask is allowed.
• Only fishing from land allowed.
• Fishing from a boat, floating, etc. is prohibited
