Fishermen are obliged to inform themselves about the current regulations before fishing begins.
For sport fishing in Matkakoski, a fishing license is required, which can be purchased through ifiske.se, https://www.ifiske.se/fiske-matkakoski-fiske.htm
Fishing licenses are valid from 18:00 to 18:00 the following day, except Sunday 18:00 to Monday 18:00 when fishing is prohibited.
We sell a maximum of 45 daily tickets, with the exception of 19/6 at 18:00 to 20/6 at 18:00, when fishing licenses are not sold due to cleaning of the area and planned service measures.
The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred.
Day pass: SEK 250 (Service fee of SEK 100/day is added)
Young people aged 15-18 fish for 50% of the fee.
Children under 15 fish without a fee, but may only fish together with a guardian or other adult (1 adult per fishing child).
Fishing licenses are redeemed through https://www.ifiske.se/fiske-matkakoski-fiske.htm including a mandatory service fee of SEK 100/day. The fee refers to access to parking, the fishing area and its service facilities available at any time.
Fishermen may keep one (1) salmon type fish per fishing day. Maximum payout for fishing license 18:00-18:00 is thus 1 fish in total.
Catch & Release is not allowed. If you get (salmon-like) fish, you take up fish and have thus used up your daily quota.
Mishooked fish must always be re-released.
Only one rod per person, with one bait/pull per rod. Only hand tools with a single hook only, max size 12 mm are allowed. So-called spinning fly is allowed. For the sake of the environment, we would like everyone to use lead-free pulls and sinkers.
Jerk fishing is prohibited according to Swedish law. Catch & Release is not allowed. Wrongly hooked fish, hooked in places other than the mouth and throat, must be unhooked with the greatest care and immediately released again. The fish must not be taken out of the water during this operation.
As anglers, we show consideration for other fishermen, for the environment we live in, nature and wildlife. Consider the damage a discarded line or hook can cause in nature. Waste, food, paper, etc. are thrown into dustbins. Marking fishing spots with a rod, backpack, etc. and then walking away is not allowed.
Fishermen must be able to present a fishing license, a receipt for the service fee paid and identification when requested by the supervisor.
Fishermen who violate current regulations and fishing rules or who behave in a disruptive manner for other fishermen or non-fishermen are banned from further fishing in Matkakoski.
