Generally
All fishing and fishing methods that are not permitted according to the following paragraphs are prohibited.
For violations of fishing rules set by the association, a control fee is charged in accordance with the Act on Fishing Conservation Areas. (SFS 1981:533, §§ 31 – 38)
Fishing license purchasers agree that the Fishing Supervisor may examine and check all carried fishing equipment, bags, spaces in boats, snowmobiles, windbreaks and fishing sheets.
1. Fishing license must be redeemed before fishing begins and must be carried during all fishing.
2. The fishing license must be provided with the holder's name and signature in permanent writing. The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred! Accompanying young people up to and including 16 years of age fish on the cardholder's fishing license.
3. Young people between the ages of 10 and 20 receive a fishing license free of charge, but must be able to show the fishing license to a fishing supervisor.
4. For digital fishing licenses, a printout of or fishing license in digital form must be presented.
5. The fishing license must be able to be shown to a fishing supervisor together with identification on request.
6. Fishing licenses without name and signature are considered invalid.

Excluded areas for fishing
1. Malgomaj 1:8 (GHG AB). The fisheries management area only covers the waters of Malgomaj and Insjön.
2. Areas leased by Umlax AB. The water around the fish boxes in the fish farm.

Trolling
Cards for Trolling are only sold at Grönlunds Fiske in Vilhelmina. There you will also find current rules and information about closed areas and about suitable areas for trolling for different fish species.

Fishing season
Fishing ban during the period 1/5 - day before Midsummer Eve according to the grid marked area of the map image. Fishing ban within the area marked with a square on the map from October 1, 2023 until February 15, 2024
Fishing ban in all flowing watercourses between 1/9 – 31/10.
Also applies within a radius of 300 meters of all watercourses opening into the lakes.

Methods
Only fishing with one (1) hand gear per person is permitted.
Fishing from a boat, "rowing" or dragging a long line with a rod is allowed.
Trolling card rules in addition to rules that apply to normal card fishing
1. Fishing permitted from Midsummer Eve - 31/8
2. Max 3 rods/person with one bait/rod and max 6 rods/boat.
3. Deep rigging and side screens allowed.
4. Trolling only applies in Lake Malgomaj from the checkmarked area on the map east towards Malgovik's fishing limit.

Catch Limits
Maximum five (5) noble fish / person / day, does not apply to whitefish.

Other rules
All fish cleaning must be taken care of.
Ban on the use of live or frozen bait.
Does not apply to worm or maggots.
Prohibition of all mashing with vegetarian, animal or artificial means.
All fishing for sale is prohibited.
