From October 16 to May 19, there is no zoning in the river. No pre-booking for fishing is required and it is permitted with both spinning, angling and fly fishing.
Follow the rules, catch limits and minimum measurements for each species. We recommend that all fish that are not to be killed be handled in the water, the use of nets with gentle netting is recommended to facilitate handling. In case of violation of Forshagaforsen FVOf's fishing rules, a control fee of SEK 1,000 is payable. In the case of fishing without a valid fishing license or violation of the Fisheries Act and regulations issued based on this, a police report is made and used fishing equipment is confiscated.

1. MINIMUM SIZE FOR SALMON AND TROUT
   Minimum size for salmon and trout 60 cm. Caught salmon and trout below the minimum size are released immediately. Only one salmon or trout over 60 cm may be caught and kept per fishing license and day.
   If the fisherman chooses to take up a salmon or trout over 60 cm, a new fishing license must therefore be issued for continued fishing.
2. SALMON AND TROUT WITH THE FAT FIN REMAINING
   All salmon and trout with adipose fins remaining must be carefully released immediately.
3. CATCH LIMIT OTHER SPECIES:
   Interval measurements for grayling apply: 1 grayling/day between 35-45cm may be kept. Maximum size for pike: 100 cm, Maximum size for lake: 60 cm, minimum size for zander is 45 cm.
4. BAIT
   Natural bait such as worm, roe and shrimp may not be used when fishing for salmon and trout.
5. HOOK
   A barbless hook must be used for all fishing for salmon and trout.
6. WRONG HOOK
   Fish that have been wrongly hooked, i.e. not bitten the bait and the hook is not in the mouth, must be re-released immediately. Fishing with the aim of catching the fish is absolutely prohibited.
7. EQUIPMENT LIMITATIONS
   1 rod/fishing license applies
8. FISHING LICENSE
   All those fishing must have some form of fishing license (including owners of fishing rights). The fishing license must be presented at the request of the fishing supervisor or fishing right owner.
9. FISHING LICENSES FOR FISHING RIGHT OWNER
   Fishing rights owners fish free of charge on fishing rights cards. When collecting a fishing right owner card, a fishing right owner certificate must be presented.
10. YOUNG PEOPLE
    Young people up to and including 15 years of age may fish freely downstream of the old railway bridge in zone 4. Applicable rules for fishing must be followed.
11. REPORTING
    All catches must be registered at the Sportfishing Centre. This is done on the designated catch report form in the cabinet at the back of the storage building at the center or by sending an email to sportfiskarna@forshagaforsen.se.
12. CHANGE OF RULES
    Forshagaforsen's fishing area association can change the fishing rules or restrict fishing at any time during the season.
