Fishing rules

Fishing area, excellent with signs!

Zone 3 begins 900 meters downstream of the power plant and extends largely to the mouth of the river, according to the map. There is a small area at "Fjäl" which is only for private fishing. See signs with map.

• All forms of snatch fishing are prohibited by law!
• Chopping hook must not be used.
• Fishing from land and boat is allowed. In case of congestion, land fishing takes precedence.
• Only one simultaneous rod, which must be hand-held or within very close reach, per fisherman is permitted.
• Fishing in the traditional sense with a spin or reel rod and multiplier or reel reel is allowed except during the salmon fishing period 15 June - 1 October when spin fishing with spoon pulls, spinners and wobblers is completely prohibited on the upper part of zone 3 down to the lower tip on Helena / Skäftesholmen ( is marked with signs). Only single hook allowed during this period.
• Maximum hook size: single hook 13 mm and double or triple hook 9 mm (distance between hook peg and shaft).
• Traditional fly fishing or spin fishing with environmental sinker and fly (non-weighted fly) on a single hook is allowed. When fishing with a spin or tube fly, the distance between the casting weight and the fly must be at least 150 cm. Fishing with so-called braided lines is permitted if they are provided with a weaker paw for the bait, also applies to trawling. The diameter of the braided line must not be less than 0.32 mm. Zones 1 and 2 during the salmon period. No baits may be weighed. Worms and other natural baits are allowed.

• Zone 2 On the fly fishing stretch at the North side "Notudden".

Double hook, three hook may be used max gap 9mm for traditional fly fishing throughout the season.

• Zone 2 Mobile fishing is applied when several fish are caught at the same time , according to the following guidelines:
  • For boat fishing: 50 meters movement every full and half hour.
  • For land fishing: transfer for several fisheries in the same place (Applies to all Zones)

Wrongly hooked fish
Fish hooked in places other than in the mouth or throat - must be hooked with the utmost care and released immediately . Fish that have been hooked so badly that they will obviously die must be killed and, if staff are available, immediately handed over, otherwise released

Obligation to re-release
Salmon less than 50 cm, trout less than 40 cm and grayling less than 30 cm must always be re-released (minimum size).

Catch and registration
A total of 3 FISHERIES may be taken per fishing pass. (Trout, salmon or grayling) in all Zones!
Sport fishing must take place with regard to the fish. Remember that re-release of fish takes place in the water with caution.
Caught fish must be registered as soon as possible on the website in Zones 1 and 2 or via i: The fishing app in Zone 3 where you bought your fishing license. www.bergeforsfisket.com

Rule changes
Changes or additions to the rules can be made during the current season.
In that case, these are posted at the salmon farm's parking lot, on the website and are handed out continuously when buying a fishing license.

Violation and Force Majeure
Anyone who violates current rules or otherwise behaves disruptively can be suspended from further fishing in Bergeforsen's Fisheries Conservation Area, which also affects other waters with which Bergeforsfisket cooperates. Violation of rules, which entails revocation or invalidated fishing license, does not give the right to fully or partially recover the fee paid. The same may apply in Force Majeure, ie an event that could not have been foreseen in advance.

In the event of a breach of applicable rules, the fisheries inspector has the right to print a so-called control fee of currently SEK 800 in the event of, for example, incorrect fishing method, unrespected dark protection, etc.

If the fishing area's staff or supervisors are exposed to threats or harassment by fishing guests, the person in question will be suspended and a police report will be made. Eviction can be decided directly by the fisheries supervisor who reports to the fisheries conservation area's operations manager.

Sport fishing is conducted at your own risk. The river is short-term regulated and caution should be observed in changing current conditions.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN TO LIT DOWN AND LEAVE FISH OR WASTE, CIGARETTE SMOKING AFTER THE BEACHES. DO NOT LEAVE FISHING LINES OR AGENDAED LINE ON THE GROUND. WE CAN TAKE CARE OF BIRDS, DOGS, CATS ANNUALLY THAT HAVE TROUBLED IN OR COOLED BITS WITH HOOKS.
