For Fiskerättsägar (the person, the persons who stand as the owner of the property), spouse and thus equal person as well as children living at home and guest cards, the following rules apply.

Note! Every year, a lot of garbage is thrown into nature. Fishing lines, plastic bags, beer cans and packaging remain for hundreds of years. They harm nature and the animals that live there. What are you going to do with the trash? Throw it in a fisheries management area's bins or take it home.

The guest card is part of the fishing license. The guest card applies with the same rights as fishing right owners if the fishing right owner participates in the guest's fishing, i.e. only if the guest is within sight of the fishing right owner. Otherwise, the guest card only applies with the same rights and obligations as for fishing license buyers (see PM for fishing license buyers). The guest card may not be leased or transferred against payment or included in cabin rental. The guest card may not be transferred or sub-let by the guest who uses it. For the guest card, a maximum withdrawal of a maximum of 5 salmon and 5 trout per year and guest card applies.

With the AGM's decision to introduce digital fishing cards also for fishing right owners, lending and activation of guest cards must be done via iFiske ( https://www.ifiske.se/ ). It is the holder of the digital fishing license who can do this (due to technical limitations). The borrowed guest card then becomes a digital fishing license issued to the person specified by the fishing right owner. Lending can now be done as a 24-hour card or a maximum of one week at a time.

Salmon and trout
Salmon is allowed to fish and kill during the period 1/1 – 14/9.
Trout is allowed to fish and kill during the period 1/1 – 14/9 and the period 1/11 – 31/12.
Minimum size of salmon and trout 50 centimeters.
During the period 1 August – 14 September, it is recommended to only kill salmon measuring 50 - 63 centimeters.
Only 1 salmon and 1 trout per fisherman per day is allowed. When a salmon and a trout have been killed, catch & release fishing applies to the catcher for the rest of the day, that is until 00:00.00.
Catch limit of a maximum of 5 salmon and 5 trout per season.

Grayling
Catch limit of a maximum of 5 greyhounds per day and fisherman. Minimum measurement 35 centimeters.
Peace period for grayling applies in the period from April 1 to May 31 inclusive.

Fishing ban: In Byske during the month of June between 06:00 and 18:00 there is a total fishing ban between the blue iron bridge (the bridge into the community) and downstream to the wooden suspension bridge. During the month of June, only single hooks are allowed for all fishing on this stretch.

All fishing is prohibited in the area around the permanent fishing in Fällforsen on both sides of the river, all year round. This area extends 50 m upstream of the water intake and 100 m downstream of the water discharge to the permanent fishery.

The length of the rod when spinning fly fishing must not exceed 2 meters.

Mishooked fish must be re-released, interpretation of mishooking as below:
A properly hooked fish should be hooked inside the mouth. The hook should sit in the mouth hooked from the inside out.
If the hook is on the outside of the mouth, the fish must be considered wrongly hooked, and therefore must be returned dead as alive.

We recommend always fishing with barbless hooks in catch & release fishing to facilitate restocking. Always try to minimize the drill time. The fish can be injured during the fight as a result of overproduction of lactic acid in the muscles. Sometimes it can happen that you lose a fish due to that you take it 'a little harder', but it's even worse trying to put back a fish that just turns its belly up. Especially when the water temperature is a little higher, it is difficult to release fish that have been drilled for a long time. It is always your own responsibility to handle the fish with the utmost respect.

When releasing : The basic rule is to always handle the fish as gently as possible. Remember to wet your hands before touching the fish. The fish have a mucus layer that protects them against bacteria. If the layer is destroyed through incorrect handling, the fish can be exposed to infections.

Never pull the fish up on land! Unhook it in the water with a pair of pliers. If the hook cannot be dislodged, cut the claw. Never lift the fish to be released by the gills or by the tail with the head down. The health of the fish must always come first. Make sure the fish can "stand" by itself in the water before you let go of it. Air exposure increases the stress on the fish. A quick picture can usually be taken, but never let it happen at the expense of the fish's health. A good photo, exact height and weight are of secondary importance.

Apply rotation fishing . Fishing is conducted according to the "circulation principle", that is, frequent changes of fishing spot. At the start of fishing, you start upstream of another fisherman and fish yourself downstream. Leave room for the next angler, so that everyone has the opportunity to start fishing.

Fishing from a boat in the river is reserved only:
Local population along the river who live within the fisheries management area.
Owners of cottages within the boundaries of the fisheries management area.
Holders of fishing licenses and annual fishing licenses (not season licenses, formerly annual licenses).
Companions of persons who have the right to fish from a boat may also fish from a boat.

The release lakes
In lakes with exposed fish, it is permitted to catch fish all year round.
It is only permitted to fish with one rod at a time per fisherman, thus it is forbidden to put out several rods.
Fishing may only take place from shore, the exception being ice fishing.
No minimum dimensions are stipulated in the release lakes.
A total of the fish species grayling, rainbow trout and char are kept at most 3 fish/day and fisherman.

Report caught fish! It is important against the background of complete catch statistics that caught fish are reported, this also applies to re-released fish. Therefore, the reporting obligation applies throughout the season within 24 hours of the catch of trout and salmon that meet the minimum size. Catch reporting must be done via the fishery management area's catch reporting on iFiske ( https://www.ifiske.se/ ).

Control fees
Anyone who fishes in violation of the prohibitions or conditions that apply in Byskeälven's fisheries management area will be required to pay a control fee.

Everyone has an obligation to present a valid fishing license and identity document to the inspectors during checks.
