Fishing season

• The card entitles you to fishing in all zones (see map for zoning).
• During the period 1/4-31/5, zone 3A and 3B are also open for angling. During this period, the person who fishes is required to issue a specimen card (day card). This card entitles you to angling with two rods and 5 cards/day are available. This card is only available digitally here at iFiske.
• For zone 2, 3A, 3B and 4, a total fishing ban applies from 15 September to 31 December.
• Fishing for salmon and trout is prohibited in zone 1 between 15 September and 31 December.
• Dispensation fishing for the period 15 September-14 October is applied for annually. Information is shared after a decision by the county board. If a catch report has not been submitted during dispensation fishing, the fisherman will not be able to buy more cards in Nyköpingsån.
• Fishing ban applies between 02:00 and 05:00.

General rules

• The fishing license must always be carried when fishing and must be shown to the fishing supervisor or the police upon request.
• You must be able to prove your identity when checking.
• Rules and requests from fishing supervisors must be followed.
• Fishermen who violate the regulations may be deprived of the right to fish and, in the case of gross misconduct, reported for prosecution.
• The fisherman has an obligation to be up-to-date on any rule changes and updates on fishing. All information is available here at iFiske.
• Fishing from bridges is prohibited.
• Hook hook is not allowed.
• Jerk fishing is prohibited.
• Mishooked fish must be released immediately.
• Crayfish fishing is not allowed.
• Upstream throw is not permitted.
• When fly fishing, the rod must be at least 1.5 m long.
• Fishing with live bait fish is prohibited.
• Fishing from a boat is prohibited in zone 2, 3A, 3B and 4. Fishing from a smaller boat, pontoon or canoe is permitted in zone 1. Only electric motors are permitted.
• An adult can fish with the top knot free of charge in the company of a child/youth (up to 19 years) who has a free fishing license in zones 1, 2 and 4.
• Netting and other mass-trapping devices, both fixed and mobile, are prohibited.
• It is a reporting requirement for all salmon and sea trout . Reporting takes place here at iFiske. Failure to report the catch of trout/salmon may result in the fishing license being recalled. Please report your other catches as well.

Zoning regulations

Zone 1, 2 and 4

In addition to general rules, the following rules apply:

• Fishing with two rods allowed for float and bottom fishing (requires the presence of the fisherman), otherwise fishing with one rod from hand applies.

Zone 3A

In addition to general rules, the following rules apply:

• Only fly fishing is allowed.
• For the zone, mobile fishing is applied to give everyone fishing time in available places. Upstream throw is not permitted.
• Wading is only permitted two meters out from the shoreline at prevailing water levels.

• Only single hook allowed.

Zone 3B

In addition to general rules, the following rules apply:

• Only fly or spin fishing is allowed.
• For the zone, mobile fishing is applied to give everyone fishing time in available places. Upstream throw is not permitted.
• Wading is only permitted two meters out from the shoreline at prevailing water levels.
• During the period 1/4-31/5, zone 3A and 3B are also open for angling. During this period, the person who fishes is required to issue a specimen card (day card). This card entitles you to angling with two rods and 5 cards/day are available. This card is only available digitally here at iFiske.
• Only single hook allowed.
• Spinning fly, dropshot or other methods where you distinguish the weight from the bait are not allowed.

Catch and measure restrictions

Size limitation

• Minimum salmon size: 60 cm
• Minimum size trout: 50 cm
• Catch window pike and pike: 50–75 cm
• Maximum perch size: 35 cm
• Fish below or above the minimum or maximum size must be immediately released again

Catch Limitation

• A total of 10 fish may be kept with the exception of the species below
• Sea trout/salmon: 1 per day
• Goose/pike: 1 per day
• Perch: 5 per day
• We advise against C&R of sea trout/salmon at water temperatures above 18 degrees.
• We advise against keeping sea trout/salmon during January and February as these are rarely good food fish.

Rules of well-being

• Respect other fishermen and people moving in connection with the river.
• Rubbish, ropes and other rubbish must not be left behind.
• What you can take with you to the river, you can also take home with you. Additionally, there are plenty of trash cans available along the river.
• Parts of zone 1 are covered by the Hållet-Marieberg-Stenbro nature reserve. Respect and follow special regulations for the area. More info can be found here.
