Family members
The cardholder's family members, i.e. husband, wife, partner and children living at home up to 19 years of age, may come along and participate in the fishing with their own gear.

Young people
Young people under the age of 16 may fish without a fishing license in all the waters of the Yellow Card, with the same rules as for card holders.

Regard
Remember not to disturb around residential buildings. Land may not be entered and driving on private roads is not permitted. Bathers always have priority to bathing areas and jetties.

Think of

In the waters of the Yellow Card, only rod fishing applies, not with nets and cages.

Number of fishing rods
A maximum of 2 rods per person may be used. When carp fishing with a carp supplement, 3 rods may be used (see below) and for ice fishing a maximum of 4 rods per person. The fisherman must be present at his rods.

Fishing from a boat and floating ring
Fishing from a boat is permitted in several of the Yellow Card fishing waters (see the description for each water). Fishing from floats carried with fins is permitted in all waters.

Jerk fishing and fishing in fishways
Jerk fishing and fishing in salmon ladders and fishways is prohibited.

Carp
For targeted fishing for carp, the Yellow Card's Carp Supplement is required (see page 37 of the Yellow Guide). For the additional card to be valid, you must have a valid annual card. The reintroduction must be done as gently as possible and an unhooking mat is mandatory. When carp fishing with the Carp Supplement, three rods may be used.

Pike-perch
To protect the walleye during the spawning period, it is protected in Rådasjön and Stensjön throughout May.

Salmon and trout
Fishing for salmon and trout is permitted during the period 1/4–30/9 in Sävelången and all watercourses except Göta and Nordre älv where 1/4–14/10 applies. In other waters, trout is allowed all year round. All catches of salmon must be reported to Sportfishermen, even if they are released.

Number of fish that may be kept
For salmon, trout, rainbow and char, a maximum of 2 fish may be kept per fisherman per day. For whitefish, a maximum of 10 fish per card and day is recommended.

Fish that need to be reintroduced
Carp, grass carp, tench, eel and hatched salmon and trout must be released immediately. Be careful with the fish!

Minimum dimensions
For zander and pike, the minimum size is 50 cm. For salmon and trout in watercourses, in Stora Härsjön and Sävelången, 45 cm applies. For trout in other lakes 35 cm, and for char 40 cm.

Maximum dimensions
For sustainable fishing, a maximum size of 40 cm is recommended for perch, 80 cm for zander and 100 cm for pike. Fish over these lengths should be released. Remember to handle the fish carefully!

Lärjeån
In Lärjeån, all fishing is prohibited from 1 October to 31 March.

Clean fly fishing waters
In Östra Långevattnet, Stora Björketjärnen, Lysevattnet and Bredvattnet, only fishing with traditional fly fishing equipment is allowed.

The fishing regulations apply to legal liability. Violations are reported to the police and an inspection fee may be charged. Instructions from a supervisor have the same validity as these rules.
