On the stretch from the border at Jonseredsvatnet to the Ugglums bridge, fishing is permitted from April 1 to September 30 . From   In 2023, it is allowed to fish 1 October - 31 March from Ugglumsbron to Gamlestansbron with season tickets and day tickets! See map of the fishing route. Salmon and sea trout are protected and should be reintroduced, other species are allowed to fish after.

Only ONE SINGLE HOOK may be used. Fishing with double/triple hooks is prohibited. A barbless hook is recommended for easier unhooking.

A maximum of two salmon/season may be kept. After that, fishing must end.

A maximum of two salmon/day may be caught, including reintroduced ones. After that, fishing must end.

Spawned salmon must be re-released and spawn-colored salmon should be re-released.

Salmon and trout under 45 cm must be re-released.

Female salmon should always be re-released.

Fat-finned salmon must not be released but must be retained. It is not counted in the seasonal quota.

Fishing may only be done with a spinning rod, reel rod and fly rod. Fishing for salmon and trout is not permitted. Targeted fishing for other species is permitted with traditional equipment!

Hook is prohibited.

Jerk fishing or other fishing aimed at hooking fish from the outside is prohibited.

Mishooked fish (that are hooked on the outside of the mouth or on the body) must be released back.

Mobile fishing is applied, i.e. a cast and a step downstream.

Fishing from a boat or bridge is prohibited.

During the month of April: Remember to wade carefully with regard to the yellow sac fry that are embedded in the spawning gravel on several of the river's stretches.

Supplement 1 April - 30 June

Only one salmon may be kept between April and June.

Supplement 1 Sep - 30 Sep

Salmon and trout females are protected during the month of September.

Supplement 1 October - 31 March

Salmon and trout are protected during the period and must be reintroduced. Other species are allowed to be fished for.

Catch Limits

Show consideration

Cultivated land, vacant land, or other fenced area may not be entered. When crossing pasture, special fence crossings or gates must be used.

The area around Säveån is sensitive to disturbances of various kinds. Therefore, act with discretion. The area between Aspen and Kåhögsbron, "Jonsered's streams", is a nature reserve (green line on the map).

This applies

Anyone who breaks the fishing rules will be rejected and may be banned from fishing for the rest of the season.

The fishing rules apply in case of legal liability and violation may entail additional penalties.

Fishing supervision is handled by Säfveån fly fishing society and Partille Sportfiskeklubb. Fisheries supervisors are provided with a special badge or card. Fishermen are obliged to show their fishing license, identification, gear, bags and catch on request.

Please note that fishing rules may change during the current season. The latest version of this guide with current fishing regulations is always available digitally on the regional office's website.

NOTE: Anglers can introduce temporary fishing stops on the stretches if the water temperature exceeds 19 degrees in the water! On Sävedalsvatnet, this applies after salmon and trout.

Fishing license

Season tickets cost SEK 300 and day tickets SEK 100. The price for youth up to 19 years is SEK 100 and SEK 30 respectively. The fishing license must be filled in with name and carried visibly. It must not be left.

The Yellow Card is not valid in Sävedalsvatnet.

Reporting

Information about caught fish must be reported to iFiske as soon as possible or written on the report list at the Otterdalsströmmen (R on the map).
