Generally

A valid fishing license must be carried for all fishing. The fishing license is personal and is valid with the holder's name. Fishing without a valid fishing license results in a police report for illegal fishing according to §37 of the Fishing Act. Members of Sportfiskarna have a discount on presentation of a valid membership card (separate fishing license).

Children under 16 fish for free.

Methods

A maximum of 2 rods/person may be used at the same time.

Fishing with angling, spinning, fly or pike fishing is allowed.

Fishing from a boat is not permitted, but floating rings may be used.

Free fishing for young people up to and including 15 years of age.

Catch Limits

Fish from Sandbäckstjärn should not be consumed, see special info. Sea bream and rudd are not allowed to be kept within the entire fisheries management area.

Miscellaneous

Fishing in violation of set rules means that the fisheries inspectorate can charge a control fee of SEK 1,000.

Show consideration for other fishers and for nature. Take your rubbish to bins. Don't throw anything in nature and feel free to pick up trash that others have thrown away. Care and maintenance of piers and barbecue areas as well as cleaning is handled by Karlstad municipality. Please report defects on the municipality's website.
