Åker Canal - Lower part
The canal offers fishing in central Åkersberga after various species such as whitefish (brax, roach, björk, sarv etc.), sea trout, gös, pike, perch, lake and aspen. Members of ÖSFK are offered free fishing, and guests are welcome to buy a weekly or weekly card. Fishing ban is valid from September 15 to December 31. Some stretches, including around Slussholmen and at Smedbyån's outflow, are protected all year round. This means that you can easily reach municipal transport.
Trastsjön and Södersjön
These lakes are tied together by a short stay in Trastsjöskogens scenic area about 10 minutes from central Åkersberga.In these lakes, fishing mainly for species such as braxen, pike, perch, sutter and carp. For carp and suters there is a mandatory catch @ release.
In addition to the above fishing waters, membership in Österåkers Sportfiskeklubb provides increased fishing rights to various archipelago waters belonging to Österåkers municipality. In addition to free hand-held fishing, there is the possibility of house-need fishing with nets, lanes and angels. Also some possibility of trolling with electric motor according to special rules.

Österåkers Sportfiskeklubb started its operations in 1943 and is today one of the country's larger fishing clubs / associations with almost 600 members.
The sport fishing club manages and supervises Österåker municipality's fishing waters but also other leased water areas. The waters include i.a. archipelago waters and Drängsjön, Trastsjön, Södersjön and the lower part of Åkers canal. In Drängsjön, put & take fishing for precious fish is conducted.
The club conducts fisheries management and fisheries supervision activities in the managed waters.
We have also been approved by the County Administrative Board of Stockholm County since 1996 to conduct fisheries inspection courses.
