Welcome to Mora-Våmhus Fisheries Conservation Area

The fisheries management area covers the Mora and Våmhus parishes in Mora municipality and has an area of almost 2000 km2. A fishing license is valid for the entire area with hundreds of lakes, ponds, rivers and streams except for the Österdalälven River from Spjutmodammen down to the center of Mora and some Put&Take waters with planted rainbow trout. Ready-to-catch fish (char/trout) are released annually in some lakes. Many waters also have natural populations of char, trout and grayling, especially in flowing water. Here you can fish without disturbing crowds and often in wilderness-like environments that are rarely visited.
