Changed rules for municipal fishing in the Ronneby River
Fish in the Ronneby River show, after a sampling in 2024, an elevated level of PFAS downstream of the Brantafors power plant. The measured level is at a level that, according to the Swedish Food Agency, results in the recommendation that caught fish should not be eaten.
For this reason, Ronneby Municipality has decided to change the regulations regarding municipal fishing in the Ronneby River. From 2025-01-14, only Catch and release fishing is permitted, meaning that all caught fish, without exception, must be released.
