Changed rules for municipal fishing in the Ronneby River

Fish in the Ronneby River show elevated levels of PFAS downstream of Brantafors power plant after sampling in 2024. The measured levels are at a level that, according to the Swedish Food Agency, results in a recommendation that caught fish should not be eaten.

For this reason, Ronneby Municipality has decided to change the regulations regarding municipal fishing in the Ronneby River. From 2025-01-14, only Catch and release fishing is permitted, meaning that all caught fish, without exception, must be released.
