Västmanland is located in the inland of Svealand and borders Södermanland, Värmland, Dalarna, Gästrikland and Uppland.
The county is varied in nature. In the southeastern parts you find very fertile plains, while in the northwestern parts you find a landscape that rises and thus mostly abandons the agricultural landscape to a more hilly terrain filled with heights, forests and lots of lakes.
Fish to catch in Västmanland include perch, pike, pike, salmon, sea trout, grayling and trout. The fishing is incredibly varied and thanks to the large number of water you can choose and toss between different fishing methods and species. In addition to large waters such as Lake Mälaren and Hjälmaren, the Dalälven River also flows through the county.
"Last ice fishing for this time, for me. Really treacherous ice now in many places. Pretty ok yesterday, completely different character today. Going fast now. The handicap bridge and the bay to the west can go another day. Maybe also the eastern bay? But the northern shoreline in the center of the lake is just to be forgotten now. May look decent, but it's just gruel without bearing to trust. My tip is not to go out anymore! Became a short and a little wet after work fishing today." Värlingen
