Hatched salmon (smolts) must be released throughout the season. Period quota - April 1-June 30 During the period 1 April-30 June you may catch (retained catch) a total of no more than one (1) salmon. Once you have caught one (1) salmon (retained catch), you must stop all fishing for the rest of the time up to and including 30 June. You may release caught fish and continue your fishing until you have reached the quota. However, keep in mind that this must be done with the utmost respect and care for the fish. Quotas apply to the entire Ätran water system. Daily quota – 1 July-30 September The daily catch (retained catch) during the period 1 July-30 September is two (2) salmon or trout. You may release caught fish and continue fishing until you have reached the seasonal or daily quota. However, please remember that this should be done with the utmost respect and care for the fish. Quotas apply to the entire Ätran water system. Seasonal quota – April 1-September 30 The permitted seasonal quota is five (5) salmon (retained catch). You may release caught fish and continue fishing until you have reached the seasonal or daily quota. However, please remember that this should be done with the utmost respect and care for the fish. Quotas apply to the entire Ätran water system. In August and September, all caught fish over 75 cm should be released. We also recommend that smaller females be released during these two months and urge anglers to be aware of high water temperatures (over 20 degrees), when they should consider refraining from fishing altogether. Minimum dimensions Counted from the tip of the snout to the outer tip of the caudal fin. Salmon............. 45 cm Sea trout... 45 cm Fish that do not meet the standard must be released immediately. Reporting If you fish, you are obliged to report your catch, which also applies to catch that is released, spawned fish and other fish species. Catch reporting is an important tool for fisheries management. Reporting is done through the link that comes with your digital fishing license, via fishing license number on iFiske.se or by filling out the appropriate form inside the salmon hut. Please also note your catch of salmon and trout on the external boards at the salmon hut. Released fish are estimated in length and recovered fish are measured and weighed at the salmon hut. Note: special rules may apply to participation in competitions such as salmon angler of the year or similar. Be careful and contact a fishing host if you have a big catch. Check out the competition rules if you want to participate and compete. Supervision – general rules Fishing licenses together with identification must be presented when checked by the fishing host or supervisor. The angler is required to have knowledge of the applicable fishing regulations and follow them. Fishing is conducted according to the "rotation principle", i.e. the angler moves continuously downstream with frequent changes of fishing spot. One cast, one step is a good basic rule. If another angler is already fishing in the pool, you start your fishing upstream. Anyone who catches a fish must leave their fishing spot and start over in turn. It is not permitted to mark a fishing spot with, for example, backpacks or fishing rods. Do not "lock" fishermen on the other side with excessively long casts and keep an appropriate distance. As an angler, we assume that you show consideration for the environment you are in with its nature and wildlife. Think about the damage a discarded line or hook in nature can cause. Garbage and waste are taken home or thrown into containers set up along the river or at the salmon hut. Be attentive and respect cyclists and pedestrians on the walks around the river. Fishermen who violate applicable regulations and fishing rules or who behave in a disruptive manner towards other fishermen or non-fishermen will be banned from continuing to fish in Falkenberg Municipality's salmon fishing waters in Ätran. Boat fishing It is not permitted to fish from a boat from Hertingforsen to just downstream of Tullbron, but it is possible to fish with your own boat in Hålan. For a fee, you can launch your boat at Falkenbergs Båtsällskap or Lövstavikens marina. Trolling is not permitted. 2025-12-14 | https://www.ifiske.se/en/fishing-permit-falkenbergs-laxfiske.htm?rules=657 | www.ifiske.se |
