Finjasjön Fisheries Conservation Association Fishing regulations and agreements for fishing with a sport fishing license in Lake Finjasjön Fishing license - The fishing license entitles you to sport fishing with a maximum of 2 hand-held rods, such as fishing rods, spinning rods, reel rods, fly rods and ice rods. Fishing with gear such as fishing rods, nets, cages and other movable or fixed fishing gear is prohibited. The use of live transducers in connection with fishing is prohibited.
- The fishing license is personal and may not be transferred or lent.
- The fishing license must be taken with you when fishing and must be presented together with valid identification and the fish caught when requested by a fishing inspector.
- A fishing inspector has the right to request access to closed or locked areas on a boat used for fishing.
- Anyone who cannot prove their right to fish risks being reported to the police for illegal fishing. Fishing without a permit is a crime under Section 37 of the Fishing Act (1993:787) and can result in a fine or imprisonment for up to 12 months.
- Children under 16 years of age (age must be proven) fish for free when accompanied by a guardian on the guardian's fishing license and under the guardian's responsibility.
Protected areas, protected periods and protected species - From March 1st to May 31st, fishing is prohibited at the river mouths in the lake (Tormestorpsån, Hovdalaån and Mjölkalångaån). The protected areas for each river mouth consist of a triangle 150 meters straight out from the mouth and 150 meters on each side of the mouth.
- All fishing in water shallower than 3 meters is prohibited during April and May (zander and pike fishing), with the exception of rod fishing from land and rod fishing from the association's fishing pier.
- All fishing directed at trout is prohibited.
- All fishing directed at eels is prohibited.
- All caught trout and eels must be released immediately, regardless of condition (dead or alive).
Catch limits for pike and zander - Maximum 2 fish in total (pike or pike-perch) per person per day. This quota cannot be increased by purchasing multiple fishing licenses for the same day. Minors who are accompanied by a guardian and fishing on their guardian's license may share their guardian's quota with them.
- Pike: minimum 45 cm and maximum 70 cm.
- Pike perch: minimum 45 cm and maximum 70 cm.
- All catches below the minimum size or above the maximum size must be released immediately, regardless of condition (dead or alive).
Other provisions - So-called jerk fishing, fishing with hook gear with the intention of jerking the hook, is prohibited.
- It is prohibited to fish with pole hooks and scissors.
- Handle fish that are to be released back into the lake with care.
- It is prohibited to sell or barter predatory fish caught in the lake.
- Everyone who fishes in Lake Finjasjön is obliged to find out and know the regulations that apply to fishing in the lake.
- By purchasing a fishing license, the buyer agrees to the regulations that apply to fishing in Lake Finjasjön.
Fishing supervision and inspection fee - A fishing inspector has the right to request access to closed or locked areas on a boat used for fishing.
- NOTE! Violation of local fishing regulations for Lake Finjasjön is punishable by a control fee in accordance with Section 33 of the Fisheries Conservation Areas Act (1981:533). The control fee is SEK 1,500 per violation.
