Fishing regulations in Gimmen 2025

1. With a fishing license, fishing may only be conducted with hand gear.

2. With a fishing license, fishing may be conducted with hand gear and outstanding gear (stingray & rudd).

3. Children under 15 years of age fish on their guardian's card and quota

4. Outstanding equipment will be marked with the owner's name and address. Unmarked equipment will be confiscated.

5. Fishing with otter, sledge, pole hook and pike scissors is not permitted.

6. Maximum 1 rod per card.

7. Trolling, max 4 rods per boat (1 fishing license per rod)

8. A maximum of two (2) game fish per person per day, regardless of the number of fishing licenses.

9. Minimum dimensions: Trout – 45 cm Char - 30 cm

Maximum dimensions: Perch - 40 cm Pike - 90 cm. Perch over 40 cm are released back into the lake and pike over 90 cm are also released back into the lake.

10. Only one card per person when angling. Max 10 tackle per card when angling. Traditional fishing hook must be used.

11. Only one card per person for ice fishing (fishing with bait fish and treble hooks). Maximum 6 rods per card.

12. Fishing ban applies in Gimån and Gimmen's tributaries between 1/9 – 31/12

13. All crayfish fishing is prohibited

14. All forms of fishing are prohibited. Applies regardless of fishing license and/or fishing permit.

The fishing association has a boat for rent at the boathouses in Gimmen. Info 070-2857833

Only fly fishing from float rings is allowed and catch and release in Lissjön.

Everyone who fishes in Gimmen is required to read and follow the applicable fishing regulations and to carry and, upon request, show a valid fishing license when fishing. Violations will be prosecuted by the fishing inspectors and/or reported to the police.

Violations of the rules are subject to an obligation to pay an inspection fee of SEK 2,000.
