General fishing rules for Svedje–Västanede-Övsjö FVO.

We apply an inspection fee. Violation of the rules below will result in an inspection fee being charged. The maximum amount for the inspection fee is 10% of the price base amount for the year. (58,800 SEK for 2025)

1. Maximum two rods per fishing license.
   Exceptions for children up to 16 who fish on a guardian's fishing license.
   Then 1 rod per fisherman applies.
   Example: Guardian and 1 child may use 2 rods together.
   A guardian and 2 children may use 3 rods together.
2. Maximum 3 game fish per day and fishing license.
   This also applies when children fish on their guardian's fishing license.
   Together, the guardian and child are allowed to catch 3 prize fish.
   When 3 valuable fish have been drawn, a new card must be drawn to continue fishing.
   It is not allowed to continue fishing but to apply catch and release, for example.
3. All game fish under 30 cm must be released REGARDLESS of whether they are viable or not.
4. All fishing license holders are required to allow supervisors to look into areas where it is possible to store fish. This can include bags, sacks, sumps, crates, tents, but also other things. This also applies to locked areas.
5. Live bait from other lakes is not permitted. All use of roe is also prohibited in the waters of the fishery conservation area. All types of mashing are prohibited in the lakes of the Djuptjärnsgruppen.
6. The maximum size of pike in ALL waters is 70cm. Fishing must be conducted in a way that allows for the return of pike alive.
7. ONLY Catch-and-release on pike in HEMSJÖN in 2025. All pike must be released regardless of size.
   

   
     Tools & Vehicles

• The use of fixed gear such as nets, nets, scissors, traps and cages is strictly prohibited in the Deep Iron Group.

• It is prohibited to use boats on the Djuptjärnsgruppen with the exception of the boat that is included in the cottage rental at Djuptjärn. Floating is permitted.

• Scissors are prohibited on Hemsjön, in other waters (except the Djuptjärnsgruppen) ONLY fishing right holders are allowed to use scissors as long as they are marked with their name and property designation.  

Rules regarding boats and other vessels

Boats may be used on all waters except Djuptjärn, Österholmtjärn, Västerholmtjärn and Älgkalvtjärn. However, on these lakes you may use a float ring, see below.
Special rules apply to floating rings:
Float fishermen give way to those fishing from land. Approved floats must be designed as a "traditional" float and be moved by paddling with the feet.
If the float is propelled with oars, it is considered a boat. This is not permitted.
No type of engine is allowed.
Own boats, inflatable boats, canoes and kayaks, etc. are not allowed in the deep pond group.
