Regulations

• A valid fishing permit is required in order to fish. The fishing permit is personal and may not be transferred to another person. The period of validity is stated on the fishing permit.
• Pike-perch (zander) may only be kept if they measure between 40 and 60 cm (a so-called slot limit). Fishing for pike-perch is prohibited from 1 May to 15 June.
• Young people up to and including 15 years of age do not need to purchase a fishing permit, but must comply with the rules applicable to fishing permit holders.
• Only hand-held fishing tackle is permitted.
• A maximum of 10 tip-up devices may be used for ice fishing. A separate additional fishing permit is required for this type of fishing.
• It is the responsibility of the fishing permit holder to stay informed about applicable laws and regulations, such as prohibited fishing methods and minimum sizes for different fish species.

Prohibited Fishing

• Fishing for brown trout and asp is prohibited.
• Crayfish fishing is prohibited.

Fishing Permits

Standard Annual Permit

Valid for one year from the date of purchase. A maximum of 4 pike-perch may be kept per fishing permit within a 24-hour period. A maximum of 2 fishing rods per person and one lure or bait per rod may be used. A maximum of 4 fishing rods/pieces of tackle may be used per boat. A maximum of 8 pike-perch may be kept per boat. The annual permit costs SEK 400.

Trolling Day Permit

A maximum of 4 pike-perch may be kept per fishing permit within a 24-hour period. A maximum of 6 fishing rods/pieces of tackle and one lure or bait per rod/piece of tackle may be used per boat. A maximum of 8 pike-perch may be kept per boat. A trolling day permit costs SEK 250.

Trolling Annual Permit

A maximum of 4 pike-perch may be kept per fishing permit within a 24-hour period. A maximum of 6 fishing rods/pieces of tackle and one lure or bait per rod/piece of tackle may be used per boat. A maximum of 8 pike-perch may be kept per boat. An annual trolling permit costs SEK 1,300.

Day Permit

Valid for 24 hours from 00:00. A maximum of 4 pike-perch may be kept per fishing permit within a 24-hour period. A maximum of 2 fishing rods per person and one lure or bait per rod may be used. A maximum of 4 fishing rods/pieces of tackle may be used per boat. A maximum of 8 pike-perch may be kept per boat. The permit costs SEK 50.

Weekly Permit

Valid for one week from the date of purchase. The same fishing rules apply as for the day permit. The weekly permit costs SEK 200.

Competition Permit

A discounted day permit available only to organised clubs, companies and organisations. Not valid for trolling competitions. A competition permit costs SEK 5.

Ice-Fishing Tip-Up Permit

Valid during the ice-fishing season (maximum 10 devices). A valid annual permit is also required. The tip-up permit costs SEK 300.

Annual Guest Permit

If you wish to bring friends, family members or others, a guest permit is recommended. It allows up to 3 people to fish under the permit. The host must hold a standard fishing permit and must be personally present. Valid only for fishing in open water. A guest permit costs SEK 400.
