Fishing regulations within Åby Älv's Upper Fishing Area
Fishing within the fishery conservation area may only be conducted by those who have obtained a fishing license and only with hand gear.
Exceptions apply to fishing with a fishing rod (2 fishing licenses) for pike and perch.
Fishing ban applies from Hednäs power station downstream approximately 600m to the sign. This applies all year round.
Salmon
1/9-31/12 there is a fishing ban on salmon.
Salmon fishing is permitted between 16/5-31/8.
During the period 1/1-18/6, C&R applies 19/6-31/8.
Max 1 salmon/fisherman/day
Ban on salmon fishing upstream from Hednäs power station.
Minimum dimensions:
50cm Salmon exceeding 90cm are released.
Fish that are smaller than the above measurements must be immediately unhooked without lifting the fish out of the water.
Trout
1/9-31/12 there is a fishing ban on trout.
Trout fishing is permitted between 16/5-31/8.
During the period 1/1-18/6, C&R applies 19/6-31/8.
Max 1 trout/angler/day
Minimum dimensions:
50cm Trout exceeding 70cm are released.
Fish that are smaller than the above measurements must be immediately unhooked without lifting the fish out of the water.
Grayling
1/3-31/5 there is a fishing ban on grayling.
A maximum of 5 grayling/angler and 24 hours may be kept.
Minimum dimensions:
35cm Grayling exceeding 45cm are released (recommended)
Fish that are smaller than the above measurements must be immediately unhooked without lifting the fish out of the water.
Reporting obligation
Everyone who fishes must report all fish caught, including returned fish.
Catches must be reported immediately after release or capture.
Reporting is done via IFiske where you buy your fishing licenses.
General provisions
All fishermen must bring a valid fishing license and valid identification.
Supervision in the fisheries management area takes place continuously and documents must be presented in connection with inspections.
Otherwise, it is considered poaching and this is reported to the police.
Young people under 18 fish for free but must be able to prove their age with identification in cases where there may be doubt.
Fishing with hand gear includes pole, rod, spinning, reel or fly rod.
So-called paternoster tackle is prohibited.
Only 1 rod/angler is allowed.
