Welcome to the Etelhem fishing license area!
Etelhem is a vibrant parish in southeast Gotland with scenic walking areas for the whole family. The fishing license is now valid for Sigvalde and Hageby swamps where the whole family can enjoy fishing, outdoor activities, swimming and beautiful forest walks.
Etelhem's local history association is an active and driving association that works for a vibrant parish. On behalf of the landowners, the association now also ensures that fishing is accessible and sustainable in the long term in one of the parish's two swamps - Sigvalde and Hageby swamps. Fishing in the swamps can take place all year round and is suitable for both young and old.
Sigvalde swamp: Sigvalde swamp is one of Gotland's many unique small lakes that are locally called swamps. However, the use of the word swamp can create confusion as some are surprisingly deep for their size. Sigvalde swamp is a good example. The swamp is relatively small with an area of about 5 hectares, but with a maximum depth of an impressive 30 meters, the swamp is actually one of the deeper ones on Gotland. Sigvalde swamp and its surroundings are a perfect destination for relaxation in beautiful nature, cooling off in the water, hiking along the winding paths and, not least, for fishing.
Fishing is suitable for both experienced and inexperienced people! The water is easily reached from the beach or by following the path along the mountainside and the forest on the southern side of the swamp.
Note! Protection area for crayfish. This means that in the swamp it is forbidden to use fishing gear and launch boats or other floating equipment that has been used in freshwater outside the protection area without prior disinfection. More information about the crayfish protection area and disinfection can be found on signs at the swamp.
Welcome to enjoy fishing and outdoor life in Etelhem!
