Fishing rules in Solgen

• Fishing permitted with hand gear, such as angling, ice fishing, casting rod, fly rod.
• Maximum two tackles per fishing license (maximum 10 fishing rods/ice rods).
• Catch limit (quota) of a total of three fish per day . Applies to the species pike perch and pike and the number is calculated for the species together.
• The minimum size for pike and zander is 50 cm . The maximum size for pike and zander is 70 cm . Fish that are outside the minimum or maximum size must be returned immediately.
• Fishing with bait is prohibited at depths exceeding 9 m.
• Young people under 15 years of age fish for free when accompanied by a paying adult and fish within the paid adult's catch quota.
• Crayfish fishing and net fishing are not included and are reserved for fishing rights holders.
• Net fishing by fishing right holders for the primary purpose of catching pike-perch is limited to fishing with a mesh size between 48 – 70 mm. The fishing right holder’s telephone number must be indicated on the buoys for the net.
• Fishing supervision and control of fishing licenses are carried out in Solgen. In case of violation of the rules of the fishing conservation area association, an inspection fee of SEK 1,000 is charged. The fishing conservation area association has decided that other fishing supervisors than the association's own are also entitled to charge an inspection fee.

Recommendations/other

• Please respect that Solgen has several fishing license areas and that several fishing licenses may need to be issued. Fishing in an area where a fishing license has not been issued is a crime and not a violation of these fishing rules. The police may be called by the water owner.
• Fishing licenses are personal and valid identification (passport, driver's license, etc.) must be presented.
• Prevent the spread of predatory mackerel. Sanitize boats and equipment before using them in Solgen if you have previously fished in another lake.
• Handle the fish carefully, especially the one being returned.
• Drive slowly by motorboat in Solgenån to protect wildlife and vegetation and reduce erosion along the banks.
• Take all trash home and respect the restrictions that apply to the nature reserves in Solgens övärld (tents are prohibited on Prästö).
• Prepared barbecue areas are available, for example, on Sörö and Prästö.
