All waters within the fishery conservation area are available for short-line fishing. Ormsjöorten's fishing conservation area association administers the fishing conservation area and provides fishing licenses.
Fishing rights holders and registered residents have the right to fish if they purchase a "Fiskerättsbevis" for 150 kronor, which is issued by the Ormsjöorten fishing conservation area association. This certificate is valid for the holder and their household. Others purchase a "Dyngskort" for 100 kronor or a "Årskort" for 500 kronor. Daily passes and annual passes only apply to fishing with hand gear. Rules - Fishing with nets is prohibited in all ponds.
- Ban on raking whitefish.
- A fishing ban will apply for a certain period of time after the stocking of fish in the ponds. This will be announced via an advertisement in Dorotea-Aktuellt, Facebook and our website.
- Trout fishing prohibited in Långseleån from 15/8 to 15/11. Grayling fishing permitted. Caught unharmed trout will be released back.
- Grayling fishing is prohibited from the bridge over the Långseleån upstream of the entire river from 1/5 to 31/5.
- Total ban on worm fishing in Långseleån.
- In the Långseleån River, all trout and grayling over 40 cm must be released. The length is measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail fin.
- It is only permitted to keep and kill a total of 3 salmonid fish (trout, char or grayling) per person per day.
- Fishing with nets is prohibited from the southern tip of Långön and upstream during the period 15/8 to 15/11, with the exception of whitefish fishing in Boselet during the period 15/10 to 31/10.
- A catch premium of SEK 50 for caught mink is paid to fishing rights holders.
- Free fishing in Ormsjön for children up to 15 years of age.
Fly fishing route - New from 2022-06-01 - A marked stretch starting at the beginning of Långseleån up to Nybodarna is only fly fishing allowed with "catch and release". This stretch has been closed to fishing for 3 years previously, opened on 2022-06-01.
