A maximum of 6 nets of standard length are permitted. For Co-owners and local residents, bream, rudd and salmon trout are permitted fishing gear, where the rules do not state otherwise. The gear is limited to a maximum of 6. Fishing with fixed gear from ice, with the exception of roach huts, is not permitted within Orsa FVOF. Bass fishing in lakes with trout Use of trout in lakes with trout is only permitted for co-owners and residents within Orsa FVOF. Marlin fishing may only be conducted in the following lakes: - Mosquito Lake
- Lower iron
- Upper Tarn
- Source Lake (Kölsjön)
- Salmon Lake
- Northern Reindeer Lake
- Lake Vålasjön
- Lake Hällsjön
- Lake Tenningsjön
Marlin fishing is only permitted during the period from ice breaking up until May 31st. The following restrictions and conditions apply:- A maximum of 6 billion kronor per fishing license may be used.
- Martens should be whitened at least once a day.
- Any by-caught trout must be immediately and carefully released.
- Barns must be clearly marked according to current regulations.
Purpose The purpose of the rules is to enable limited and controlled use of trout in selected lakes while maintaining the protection of trout stocks. By limiting use to co-owners and local residents, to specifically designated lakes and to a limited period of time, the conditions for sustainable fishing and good fisheries management are created. The rules are also intended to reduce the risk of impact on natural reproduction and ensure that any by-caught trout can be released. The rules apply from April 20, 2026 . Reduction fishing of bream in Jäsen To improve the conditions for fisheries management and balance in fish stocks, targeted reduction fishing for bream is permitted in Jäsen. The following rules apply: - Only partners and residents within Orsa FVOF are allowed to conduct reduction fishing for bream.
- Fishing may be conducted with nets and/or traps.
- Fishing is only permitted during the period from June 1st to October 31st.
- A maximum of 6 nets of standard length may be used per fishing license.
- The fishing should be conducted as targeted reduction fishing for bream and not as general recreational fishing with nets.
Purpose The purpose of the rules is to enable controlled and targeted harvesting of bream to improve the balance of fish stocks and create better conditions for fisheries management. By limiting fishing to the period 1 June–31 October, the risk of impact on spawning perch and pike is reduced. The measure also aims to reduce turbidity and competition from dense bream stocks, as well as strengthen the conditions for other fish species and an improved aquatic environment. The rules apply from 1 June 2026 . Angeldon Allowed for all categories of anglers. The quantity of fishing rods/ice rods is limited to 12. Does not apply to our Put and Take waters. Crayfishing Separate crayfish fishing license sold at ifiske.se Allowed from the 2nd Friday in August to the 4th Sunday in September. Minimum size from tip of forehead to tip of tail 10 cm. Maximum 6 cages per fishing license. The cages must be marked with name and telephone number. For more information, read the rules for fishing licenses for crayfish fishing. Trolling Rules trolling Orsasjön are at the top of this page. For the entire Skattungen, a separate trolling card applies, which can be purchased at ifiske.se Youth
Under 18 years of age do not need a fishing license (but the regulations must of course be complied with). Does not apply to Put N Take. Clarification Fishing with baited hooks includes all forms of bait such as baitfish, worms and maggots including modern "scented products". When fishing is only allowed with hand gear, the use shall be limited to a maximum of one gear per card and person. The exception is Lake Orsasjön where the 1993 Fishing Act definition of hand gear applies to co-owners and residents - "Hand gear refers to a rod, jig and similar movable gear that is equipped with a line and a maximum of ten hooks ." Regard When fishing with bait fish, where permitted, avoid using fish from other water systems to avoid the spread of undesirable species and diseases. Respect the signage in the fishing conservation area. Garbage and trash must be taken home after fishing. Do not drill fish that are to be returned for too long to avoid lactic acid formation. When undersized fish have been caught, do not take the fish out of the water but carefully remove the fish into the water. Let the fish get fresh water over their gills (hold it against the current or gently move it back and forth). Most of the trout and grayling stocks in the fishery management area are naturally reproducing, which is something we are proud of. This also means that they are very valuable, but unfortunately many of the stocks are sensitive so do not overtax them - follow the issued regulations. Avoid extensive worm fishing in smaller watercourses where this fishing is permitted. Brown trout are outlawed and may be caught in unlimited numbers. Perch and pike fishing is encouraged. Wild trout fatty fin remains (return) Tagged trout, adipose fin cut off Return untagged (i.e. "wild") trout, it is protected (trout with adipose fin is protected and is released. Tagged trout may be taken regardless of size. A maximum of one fin-clipped trout with a minimum size of 50 cm may be taken per day and fishing license. Violation of the regulations may result in a control fee (2,000 SEK) being charged.
