RULES FOR FISHING IN THE SOTTERN 2025

We welcome you to a beautiful and wonderful nature experience in our vicinity.

The reason for the fishing ban from May 15 to June 20 in the southeastern area of Sottern is due to a regeneration area in the lake.

The fishing license for Sottern applies to fishing in the part of the lake that belongs to Brevens Bruk AB. The approximate border consists of a line Kvarsätter – along the municipal border -Fjärdingshällen-Prästön-500 m east of Käfsterud ( see map ).

In case of violation of the rules below, a control fee will be charged by the fisheries inspector, Tomasz Krysiak.

• The card is personal and must be carried when fishing and presented upon request during inspections.
• Only fishing with hand gear is permitted. No fishing nets may be used. In the summer, no more than one hand gear per person is allowed.
• For pike-perch, the fish caught must be at least 45 cm long and a maximum of 3 per day and short.
• For pike, the fish caught must be at least 45 cm and a maximum of 90 cm and a maximum of 3 pike/day and card.
• A special fishing license is required for trolling.
• When trolling, a maximum of 4 rods/card or a maximum of 6 rods/boat applies.
• When ice fishing, a maximum of 5 fishing gear per card applies and only with hand gear or so-called fishing tackle.
• By Ortsbo we mean those who live within Brevens Bruk AB's land holdings, including those living in Högsjö, Svennevad and Pålsboda.
• Family refers to those who live in the same household.
• Hand-held fishing for young people up to 18 years of age is free of charge (presentation of ID is required).
• Be considerate of nesting birds. Do not fish closer than 200 m from nesting ospreys and 300 m from nesting great black-backed guillemots.

Fishing ban applies within the area marked on the map between May 15 and June 20.
