
Lake Kårahult is a reservoir lake in the Lyckebyån water system, located about 4 km north of Eriksmåla (junction Rv 25 – Rv 28) in Emmaboda municipality. Kårahultsjön is also called Yggersrydsjön .
The most common fish species are pike, perch, roach, bream and tench. Zander introduced in 2009. The best fishing for pike is from the ice with an angel rod or ice rod. The largest pike on an angel rod is 12 kg, but pikes of 14-17 kg have been caught in fixed gear. Perch weighing over 1 kg are found.
Around the lake there are breeding pairs of osprey and loons, as well as the shy reed warbler. If you are lucky, you may also see white-tailed eagles or Småland's landscape animal, the otter.
There are two boats on the lake that can be rented.
NOTE: If you are using your own boat, to avoid the spread of invasive species such as sea buckthorn and similar plants, the boat, canoe or other floating material must be washed and disinfected before launching.

The association was formed in 1988 with the aim of promoting fishing in the lake, safeguarding the interests of landowners by providing fishing with hand tools in the lake. Anyone wishing to fish must hold a valid fishing license.
