People under 18 fish for free.
Fishing may be done with hand gear, i.e. fishing rod, casting rod, trolling with ice stick, with one gear at a time.
It is not permitted for the public to fish with nets or to fish from a motorboat while underway, so-called trolling.
Crayfish and eels are NOT allowed to be fished!
Fishing is controlled by fishing inspectors, who, after training, have been appointed by the County Administrative Board of Västra Götaland County.
They have the authority of a police officer and can intervene in cases of illegal fishing, including by seizing property or conducting an examination of the catch and fishing gear or boats used when traveling on the lake.
