Storsandsjöns FVO is a fishery management area consisting of four lakes; Kamsjöbäcken, Mjösjön, Ristjärnen and Storsandsjön .
Kamsjöbäcken
Fish stocks consist mostly of perch, pike and roach.
Lake Mjösjön
The fish population here is dominated by perch, pike, roach and roach. Whitefish and trout are found in isolated specimens.
The Ristjärnen
NOTE!! Right now we do not have a Rainbow trout deposit in Ristjärn, so fishing is included in the regular daily/annual pass.
Put and take. Fishing for rainbow trout. In addition to these species, there is perch. There is space to park caravans by the pond. Wind shelter, barbecue areas and a disabled-accessible pier are available by the pond. The fishing premiere is usually held in mid-June. (Right now we are not putting fish in the pond so fishing is included in the regular annual pass)
Storsandsjön
The dominant fish species are perch, pike, whitefish, roach and roach. Trout have been released in several rounds and several weighing over 5 kg have been caught from the lake. The whitefish is fine and large perch weighing over a kilo are not uncommon. Since the lake is so large, a boat is necessary when fishing. These can be rented or borrowed in the village of Storsandsjön.
The Storsandsjön fishery conservation area is located centrally in the municipality, about 15 km north of the town of Vindeln.
Storsandsjön is best known for its fine trout where trolling fishing for these has yielded catches of over 6 kg. In addition to Storsandsjön and Mjösjön which dominate the area there are a number of lakes of which Ristjärn with "put and take" fishing for rainbow trout is the most important.
NOTE!! No stocking of valuable fish in Ristjärn this year, therefore fishing in Ristjärn is included in the regular daily/annual pass.
Parts of the lake are now deep-sounded via Genesismaps, follow the link here.
