Nyköpingsån (Sportfiskarna Nyköping)

Nyköpingsån

  Södermanlands län / Nyköping municipality.

The anglers offer close-to-town fishing in a fantastic environment.

The Nyköpingsån meanders through the old city center and offers attractive fishing in an urban environment in approximately 6 km of water. Here there is the opportunity to fly-fish for sea trout and salmon as well as feeder fishing for bream, bream, bream and roach as well as spin fishing for pike, zander and perch. The Nyköpingsån offers the opportunity to fish for a variety of species, which makes fishing attractive throughout the year.

Many people visit the river to fish for trout and salmon during the first months of the year and during late summer/autumn. During the spring and summer, fantastic fishing is offered for pikeperch and perch as well as bream, id and roach. In 2020, the first release of salmon was made and in 2022, salmon over 10 kg were caught. The annual releases will continue in parallel with the release of trout, which has been going on for a long time. When fishing in the river, opportunities for food and accommodation are always within walking distance. We at Sportfiskarna work for sustainable fishing in our waters through fishing supervision, information signs and cooperation with the municipality and other local actors.

New from 2023 is that:

  • Zone 3 is divided into 3A and 3B where only fly fishing is allowed in zone 3A and spin or fly is allowed in zone 3B.
  • During the period 1/4-31/5, zone 3A and 3B are also open for angling, which requires the person fishing to purchase a specimen card (day card). Fishing with two rods is allowed and five cards/day are available. The card is only available here at iFiske.
  • To promote fishing for young people, from 2023 it is free for children/young people up to 19 years of age to fish with any method in zones 1, 2 and 4.
  • Everyone who fishes must have a fishing license, including children and young people (up to 19 years). The free fishing card for children and young people is only available digitally here at iFiske.
